Living Off Campus
Halifax is home to six Universities and two Colleges. The city of Halifax houses thousands of students every year. Because of this, finding affordable housing can become a daunting task. Dalhousie University is located in the South end, close to hospitals and government buildings; you're not only competing with those other students for housing but you are also competing with residents of Halifax. To ensure accommodations, we recommend folks prepare to come to Halifax early in the summer. The best time to look for housing for September is mid-July to mid-August; before the rush of students in September. Dalhousie also partners with Places4Students to provide a large, online, real-time database of student housing vacancies in Halifax.
