The Governance Committee shall review and ensure consistency and effectiveness of DAGS governing documents annually.
The Administration Committee is responsible for reviewing financial and administrative affairs of DAGS; this includes, but is not limited to, approving grants. The Administration Committee shall; prepare an annual budget for presentation to Council, recommend any budget changes to Council, recommend any transfer of monies to The Muse Café and Pub. The Committee is also responsible for setting standard operating procedures for human resources and administration within DAGS.
Student Life Committee
The Student Life Committee is responsible for considering matters relating to societies and DAGS; including but not limited to, student activities and events. The Student Life Committee shall advise the Council on society events and graduate student issues related to student life. In collaboration with Executive members, the committee is to plan and coordinate student events including but not limited to, social and professional development programming.
The Muse Committee prepares an annual budget for The Muse Café & Pub for presentation to Council. The Committee also sets standard operating procedures for human resources and administration within The Muse. The Muse Committee also reviews applications, develop interview protocol, interview applicants and hire all Muse staff. The Committee works with the Vice President Student Life on events and facilitation of The Muse Café & Pub.
The Elections Committee oversees all DAGS elections and referenda.The Committee recommend election dates to Council, as well as, publicizing important information regarding elections and referenda. The Committee establishes a code of conduct for candidates or other such guidelines pursuant to these Bylaws and Policies for a given election and or referenda. The Committee is also responsible for deciding on appeals made regarding decisions made by the Chief Returning Officer. The Committee has power to declare the results of any election or referenda to be voice in the event of an egregious break of the Bylaws and Policies.
