Governance Committee
The Governance Committee reviews and ensures the consistency and effectiveness of DAGS governing documents annually.
Administration Committee
The Administration Committee is responsible for reviewing financial and administrative affairs of DAGS; this includes, but is not limited to, approving grants. The Administration Committee shall: prepare an annual budget for presentation to Council, recommend any budget changes to Council and advise on the current spendings of the association. The Committee is also responsible for setting standard operating procedures for human resources and administration within DAGS.
Student Life Committee
The Student Life Committee is responsible for considering matters relating to DAGS and members societies. This includes but is not limited to, student activities and events. The Student Life Committee shall advise the Council on society events and issues related to graduate student life. In collaboration with Executive members, the committee plans and coordinates events including but not limited to, social and professional development programming.
Academic and External Relations Committee
The Academic and External Relations Committee is responsible for considering graduate student issues related to FGS, Dalhousie University, DSU, and external policy.
Elections Committee
The Elections Committee oversees all DAGS elections and referenda. Responsibilities include recommending election dates to Council, publicizing information regarding elections & referenda, establishing a code of conduct for election candidates and ensuring the code of conduct is followed. The Committee is also responsible for deciding on appeals made regarding Chief Returning Officer (CRO) decisions The Committee has the power to declare the results of any election or referenda to be voiced in the event of an egregious break of the Bylaws and Policies.
